First Slaves
A Duch ship caring slaves went to the colony of jamestown Vigina and sold the slave they had. The first slaves worked in the Colony of Jamestown Virgina were they were used to farm the tabaco plant witch gave them a huge profit htis teached the power of slavery and what it can be used for. -
Cotton Gin
The cotton gin made deseeding cotton easy and made cotton even more profitable for the south, this would cause the Civil War because the southern states would create larger farms for cotton and a higher demand for slave labor. -
Lousiana Purches
With the incresse in land slaves would be used for cotton farming in the south witch would make a huge profit in for the sothern states and also in the north when they shipped cotton to England, incressing the need for slave labor and the amount of power in between the north and south states -
act prohibiting the importation of slaves
This would make getting a slave harder until they started to breed the slave that they already had. Causeing the slave not to die out but to still be slaves this would anger the south and cause tention between the north and the south over the balance of power. -
Nat Turner's Rebellion
Nat Turner created an uprise of 70 slave that killed 60 whites and this made the south angry witch caused them to form mobs and kill any black that they saw. Also frightened the south and incressed there hardness on slaves and slave run aways. -
Manifest Destiny
Manifest Destiny gave the Americans the thought that they should move west and take the land. This would creat states and bring up the question of wether the state would be a free or slave state. -
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
When the united states Gained a state it brought up the question of if the state was going to be a slave or free state. This would cause the north and south to debate over the balance of power. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote Uncle Toms's Cabin, when the northerners Felt as if there eyes have been open to the horror of what slavery was and they had to stop slavery witch would fule the norths determination to fight the south when the Civil War started. -
Dred Scott
The Dred Scott case would say that slaves were not citizens and that the Missouri Compromise was unconstitional. Lincoln warned that "the next Dred Scott decision could threaten Northern states with slavery." This would bring a conflict between the north and south -
