Executive Order Of 9981
This Executive Order of 9981 was by Presindent Harry Truman.This Executive order was to create equality of treatment and opportunity for those in the military.This Executive was important because it created political promblem by creating more black support.This also ended segregation and created a commitiee to ensure that this order would be ensured equality of treatment and opportunity in regards to race,color,religion,and national orgin. -
Murder Of Emmett Till
Emmett Till was 14 year old boy was visiting a relative in Money,Mississippi.He was accused for flirting with a white cashier in a grocery store.He was kidnap four days later by two white man.They beat him and shot him in the head.This showed how blacks were still hated. The two white man were sent to trial but found not guilty by a all white jury. -
Montgomery Bus Boycott
The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a year long.This made companies lose 65% of their revenue because the majority of people that rode the buses were African American.They didn't have money for cars and the bus were their only transportation but as soon the boycott began the buses were pretty empty no one were riding them.Rossa Park Was the reason this happened This led to Martin Luther KIng speaking up and showed people that White people were Passionate aboout civil rights as well as Blacks. -
Freedom Riders
The Freedom Riders were Civil right activist that traveled across the south on a crusade the purpose was to end segregation. This made the federal goverment to actully do domething about their rights.The Freedom riders made people take actions to fight for their Civil Rights. -
24th Amendment passed
The 24th Admendment prohibited poll taxes this mean the right to vote cannot be denied based on paying or not paying of poll tax.This was important beacuse slowly blacks were getting Civil Rights And were allow to vote since many blacks didn't pay poll taxes. -
Civil Right Act of 1964
The Civil Right Act of 1964 was passed by Lyndon B. Johnson it outlawed public segregation and discrimination based on Race,religion,sex.This led to the end of segration by allowing white interact with blacks without discrimination. -
Selma March
The Selma March was when Martin Luther King Southern led a march with thousands of non violent people to protest for the right to vote in the south no matter what race or color they were.This was an opportunity for African Americans to show that they needed a Voting Right Act. -
Voting Right Act
The Voting Rigth Act was signed by President Lyndon Johnson this act was to provide federal protection when havting the right to vote it also outlawed literacy test.This Act didnt end segregation fast but it helped blacks get some of a change. -

The Executive Order 11246 was by Lyndon B Johnson .The purpose of The Excutive Order 11246 was to create Equal Employment Opportunity.This was important because the contractors couldn't descriminate due to religion,race,sex or national orgin.This Executive Order 11246 gave African Americans more opportunuties for jobs. -
MLK Assasinated
Martin Luther King was assasinated in Memphis Tenesse.He was shot while standing on the balcony outisde on the second floor in the Lorrarine Motelin.His Murder led to riots all across the country that Both whites and Blacks felt sadness for his death.
