  • The Introduction of the Seven main Characters

    Ellie and Corrie start planning for their trip to go camping in tailors stich. Whilst doing this they introduce the main charcters who are invited. This information is imporant to the progressing of the novel as it creates a small connection with the charcters for the reader.
  • Going to Hell

    The Seven characters make their trek into Tailor’s Stich where they discovering a secret bridge leading to a clearing. This clearing is where they set up their camp site they had planned prior. This certain event is crucial to the development of the story as it introduces a key location used within the novel.
  • Jet Planes Glimpsed

    Whilst camping the characters hear/ slightly observe a series of jet planes flying low over Hell (The name of their camping site) with no lights. This certain event is critical to the development of the storyline as it creates slight suspicion within the group which is pursuing later on within the novel also giving an introduction to the war theme, a main theme within the novel.
  • Ariving home after camping trip

    The seven characters trek home to find their houses abandon with evidence of leaving rapidly. All characters are confused, desperate with high emotions as they explore the abandoned area. This event is important to the development of the novel as it creates an insight to the, and determines, the war theme that will be carried out throughout the novel. Also it creating a stronger connection with the characters and the reader may become sympathetic to the situation the characters are in.
  • Discovering the show ground

    The seven characters split into groups as they begin to search the town. Ellie, Corrie and Kevin discover that the show ground is the base of the invasion and conclude that a war has started within their town. This moment is very crucial for the development of the novel as it is progresses the war theme and gives an insight to both the readers and the characters of what is happening within the town.
  • Lawn mower Explosion

    After exploring the show grounds the three characters, Ellie, Corrie and Kevin cross paths with three soldiers who pursue the characters into the back garden of a house nearby. While within this situation, Ellie, without hesitation preforms an intense plan involving an explosion of a lawnmower which kills and injures the three soldiers. This certain moment is crucial for the storyline development as it is a significant moment for narrator Ellie and her well-being/health
  • Lee and Roybn go into hiding

    While separating Lee and Robyn arrive at Lee’s family’s restaurant to explore, the situation of his house and to see if his family is there. Whilst doing this the two characters cross paths with soldiers where Lee becomes shot. This certain moment is very important to the development of the novel as this certain event progress later on within the storyline. Furthermore, it also deepens the connection between the reader and the character of Lee
  • Meeting Mr Clement

    After discovering Lee’s condition Ellie and Homer go with Robyn to find a solution for the problem. While visiting Lee the characters acquaint Mr. Clement, a dentist who is hiding with his family in a nearby building, who gives an insight to what has happened to the town while the seven characters were camping. This certain moment is very crucial to the development of the storyline as it provides more information on the situation the current seven characters are in.
  • Introduction of final main charcter, Chris

    After rescuing Lee, the four characters (Ellie, Robyn, Homer and Lee) begin to make their way back to their hiding spot to meet the other three characters. However, on the way they happen to stop at Chris's house to change vehicles. Whilst doing this they cross paths with Chris, who has been hiding within his parents’ house. This significant moment is very crucial to the progress of the novel as it introduces another key character whilst giving another perspective of the town’s situation, Chris’
  • Rescuing Lee

    Ellie, Robyn and Homer devise a strategic plan to rescue Lee and bring him back to Hell, as he can no longer walk. The characters form a plan to use a bulldozer that will be indestructible if the four characters are spotted. Whilst on their journey Ellie is forced to run two patrol cars off the rood, killing the passenger. This event is crucial to the development of the storyline as it’s a significant moment for the narrator Ellie that affects her mental state.
  • Going back to Hell and Ellie's mental break

    When airing back at hell after the introduction of the new character Chris, Ellie’s mental health and well-being becomes severely impacted. This causes Ellie to isolate herself from the group, often skipping meals and sleeping a large amount. This certain event is crucial for the development of the novel as it gives and insight to how the war is affecting the characters and creating a connection between Ellie and the reader.
  • Roybn, Kevin, Corrie and Chris leaving Hell

    To find more information of their current situation, Robyn, Kevin, Corrie and Chris leave Hell whilst the other four characters begin to make their camping site more efficient. This event is a crucial moment for the development of the novel as it gives an insight that their situation is becoming more difficult and also helps enhance the significant plots later in the storyline.

    Whilst the Robyn, Corrie, Kevin and Chris go to gather more information, the remaining for characters start to make their camping site more efficient. However, while doing this Ellie stumbles across the Hermits Hut, a rumor that was mentioned at the beginning of the novel. This certain event is important to the storyline development as this gives more details to a small theme of mystery that was slightly introduced at the beginning of the novel.

    When arriving back to Hell, the four characters bring a variety of information they discovered well returning to the town of Wirrawee. This includes the event where the characters are forced to hide while people from the town are forced to examine the rooms for any refugees within the town. This provides the four characters an opportunity to gather more detailed information. This event is important for the development of the story as it gives a more detailed insight to what is happening in Wirra
  • Decsion to go back to Wirrawee

    With all the gathered information, the eight main characters decide to go back into Wirrawee to make a difference in the rapidly growing invasion. The group decides to target the main highway and Wirrawee Bridge. This moment is crucial to the development of the novel as it leads to the main significant event that happens at the end of the novel.
  • Blowing up Wirrawee bridge

    Lee, Homer, Ellie and Fiona separate after devising a plan to detonate the Bridge. Ellie and Fi park a fuel tanker underneath the Bridge while Lee and Homer create a diversion on the bridge. Lighting a rope connecting to the petrol tanker, Ellie and Fi watch as the tanker exploders, rupturing the bridge. This significant moment is a crucial development to the storyline as it shows an insight of what the characters are cable of and helps enhance the plot within the novel.
  • Corrien and Kevin go to the hospital

    When arriving back to their hideout within the town, the four characters find Corrie shot and rapidly bleeding. The characters decide that Kevin to take Corrie to the local hospital and surrender to the invaders. This certain event is very crucial to the development of the storyline as it is a huge impact to both the reader and the characters after the successful event of blowing up the Wirrawee bridge also enhancing the connection between the reader and the character.
  • Recalling of the events

    When arriving back at the camping site after departing with Kevin and Corrie the characters, disheartened and devastated decided to recall the events they have experienced so far. The purpose of this event is to summary the first storyline, show the development of the characters compared to when the novel started, and to create an epilogue to the last crucial event.
