First "job"
Tom started dancing in a hip hop class at Wifbledon's Nifty Feet dance school. She danced with her school group at the 2006 Richmond Dance Festival, and during the performance she was joined by choreographer Lynne Page, associated with Peter Darling, choreographer of Billy Elliot and Billy Elliot the Musical. -
Billy Elliot
After eight auditions and two years of training, on June 28, 2008, Tom made his West End debut in the musical Billy Elliot as Michael Caffrey. On September 8, 2008 he made his acting debut in the lead role. Holland first learned gymnastics during his performance in the musical. -
The Impossible
Tom began in the world of cinema in the film The Impossible in 2012, directed by J.A. Bayonne, with Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. The film premiered on September 9, 2012 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Tom received so much critical acclaim and won several awards, including the National Board of Review Awards for Breakthrough Performance and the London Film Critics Circle Awards for Young British Performer of the Year. -
MCU
On June 23, 2015, it was announced that Holland had been chosen to play Peter Parker / Spider-Man, a little later he posted a tweet saying that his life took a turn as he would be part of a six-movie deal with Marvel Studios. As part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), she first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. -
Career
In 2017, 20-year-old Tom won the BAFTA Award for Best New Actor at the 70th British Academy Film Awards, becoming the second youngest winner of the award. He later co-starred in the film Pilgrimage. Tom also played Samuel Insull alongside Avengers co-star Benedict Cumberbatch in Alfonso Gómez-Rejón's The Current War. In May 2017, Holland appeared with Zendaya on Paramount Network's Lip Sync Battle show, during which she performed a dance number to the beat of Rihanna's "Umbrella." -
MCU Spider-man
In July 2017, Spider-Man: Homecoming was released. For this performance he entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest actor to play a lead role in the MCU. Tom played Spiderman again in Avengers: Infinity War, released on April 27, 2018, and then in the sequel to this movie, Avengers: Endgame, released on April 26, 2019. He then shot the sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home in July 2018. The film premiered worldwide on July 2, 2019. -
Dubbing
Tom co-starred with Will Smith in the animated film Blue Sky Studios Spies in Disguise, giving voice to the film's protagonists. In 2020, Holland voiced Jip, a dog, in the real-life action movie Dolittle, opposite Robert Downey Jr. He then had the lead role of Ian Lightfoot, an elf, alongside Chris Pratt in the Pixar Onward animated film. -
The Devil All the Time
Holland then starred in The Devil All the Time, a psychological thriller set after World War II, along with his Avengers co-star Sebastian Stan. The film, released in September 2020, was directed by Antonio Campos and produced by Gyllenhaal. -
Films
Holland leads Chaos Walking as Todd Hewitt. In March 2019, it was confirmed that Holland was the protagonist of Cherry, based on the novel of the same name, re-teaming with its Avengers directors, the Russo brothers. Cherry premiered in theaters on February 26, 2021 and in digital format on Apple TV + on March 12, 2021. -
Spider-Man: No Way home
In December 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, the third Spider-Man movie on the MCU and a Spider-Man movie which also featured former Spider-man protagonists Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, also starred in his iterations of the character next to him -
Uncharted
On February 11, 2022, Uncharted, a video game-based movie, was released. The film began to develop in 2008 and it was not until 2020 that they started shooting the film.
