The Evolution of Cable Television
http://privacy.med.miami.edu/glossary/xd_ccpa.htm Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984 This Policy protects the the personal information of cable service providers. Under this policy cable companies must mnaintain an updaters privacy contract that outlines the privacy rights of both customers and the company. I give this law a B+ because while some of our information is being protected, but it can so easily be unprotected and hackers can get around it. -
Is your privacy being protected through electronics?

This also prevented transmissions of electonic data by computer. I give this act a C+ because while their is a law in place to prevent this, the government wire taps anyway. -
Are your Children Protected?

This law was enacted on October 21, 1998 and went into effect on April 21, 2000. This Law states any individual under the age of 13 is not allowed to sign or "check" I agree to these terms under this policy. Basically it protects childhood safety and will not allow coperations to contact individuals under the age of 13. I give this act a A-. -
Cell Phones: Friend or Foe?
https://www.cdt.org/privacy/guide/protect/laws.php Wireless Communication and Public Safety Act This act was enacted on October 26, 1999 and is also known as the "911" Act. This policy was created to allow the "911" Emergecny Call Number to be used on non land lines such as a cell phone. It was an amendment to the Communications Act of 1934 as amended by the Telecommunications Act of 1996. I give this an A+ because it's a valuable rescource we should use! -
Obama's Take on Privacy

I give this policy a C-, I'm not sure if it's going to work or not. -
Social Media: Fact or Fiction?

This prevents employes from having to give up personal information such as a username and password to their employer. I give this policy a A+, it's not the employers right, it's mine! -
Websites: Are your sure your want to "Agree?"

Bus. & Prof. Code § 22575 (2013 AB 370)- This law states that owners or copperations of websites that use personal information have to outlines the privacy rights of both the customer and the owner. Typically this is found as a check box to "Agree to these Terms and Conditions." I give this act a C+ because many of us fail to read the terms and conditions!
