Tina started planning for her new show 30 Rock because she decided it was time to move on from Saturday Night Live. She decided to cast Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, and more. She started to create the pilot right away.

Oprah guest stars on 30 Rock
On September 13th 2008, Oprah agreed to be on 30 rock, and filmed her scenes. The episode would appear later that year. This was a huge episode for the show because Oprah brought in a lot of viewers.

Sarah Palin skit on SNL
During the Palin- Mcain elections in 2008, Tina Fey was asked to play Sarah Palin in a mock election skit on SNL, even though she did not work there anymore. Lots of people said she would be the best person to act as her so she said yes to the job. She acted alongside Amy Poehler (Hillary Clinton). This was a big turning point in her career. There was some negative feed back, and some mixed messages.

During the third season of the show they won seven Emmys on September 20th 2008.

Emmy for 30 Rock
During the fifth season of the show, they won an Emmy confirming that their show was a hit and no longer had the lack of ratings it did. Tina accepted the award for the show and they finished the season shortly after this.
