    The Supreme Court ruled that "separate but equal" was unconstitutional. The court also decided that racial separation causes unequal education. The segregation of schools caused harm to black children so schools began to desegregate.

    This act gave citizens or future citizens up to 160 acres of land. All they had to do to keep the land was live on it and pay a registration fee. The government ended up giving over 270 million acres of land that year.

    The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to celebrate the anniversary of the American Revolution. Its complete name is "The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World". Its designer thought it would best fit Americas "gateway to the world".

    The Transcontinental Railroad was a huge part of western expansion. The purpose of the railroad was to stretch from coast to coast to make travel either. It started in Promontory UT and ended in Sacramento CA.

    The Supreme Court rules decided that states couldn't prohibit segregation. The results were that whites and blacks must sit in separate areas of these carriers. This caused a huge divide in the country.

    This bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening. It was designed by John Roebling and he created it with a span of 1,595.5 ft. It was considered a symbol of American Ingenuity.

    The Supreme Court ruled that segregation was legal. Only if the facilities were "Separate but equal". This became the racial bias during segregation for the next fifty years.

    The US. sent a ship to Havanna Harbor. Because Yellow Journalism was popular at the time new circuits were able to boost propaganda to blame Spain for the ship's destruction. This is considered the spark for the Spanish American war.

    The Teller Amendment was a joint resolution with the U.S. Congress and President Mckinley. This allowed the U.S. to place a military presence in Cuba. This prepared America for the future Spanish American war.

    Theodore Rosevelt leads his regiment of "Rough Riders" to victory in this battle. This Battle was also known as the Battle of San Juan heights. It was a major U.S. victory and one of the final battles in the war.
