Inspired to become a teacher.
I was inspired by my first grade teacher to want to become a teacher. The birth of my baby brother confirmed my desire to teach as I took it upon myself to teach him many things. -
Elected president of the Future Teachers of America Club in high school.

Graduated High School/began College in order to teach
Completed one level of education and began another. On my way to becoming a teacher. -
Graduated with Bachelors in Education from Marshall University
Prepared to teach the world. -
First teaching job as a special education teacher in Central City Elementary Raleigh County
Finally, my first teaching position with the agreement that I would take classes to get certified in special education. Team teaching 1-3 grades learning disabled students. -
Teacher of LD students at Buffalo High School, Wayne County
Moved back to Huntington. Teaching position 9-12th grades at Buffalo High School, Wayne County, WV. -
Special Education Master's Degree
Completed my master's degree in special education - learning disabilities. -
Resigned from teaching.
Disenchanted with public education system, resigned full-time position in Wayne County and began substituting in Cabell County. -
Homeschooling
Began teaching my own daughter at kindergarten level. -
Renewed Teaching Certificate, NILD Level 1 Training/Educational Therapist The Learning Station
Went to work at The Learning Station and received training to be an educational therapist with learning disabled students and adults. -
NILD Level 2 Training
Level 2 training to get certified to continue doing therapy at the Learning Station. -
NILD Level 3
Took Level 3 training to complete all NILD classes. -
Back to public school
Due to health issues, I went back to public school teaching, in special education again -- Barboursville Middle School. -
Spring Hill Elementary
Moved back to elementary special education. -
Back to Marshall Grad. School
Began classes to get multi-categorical special education certification. -
Barboursville Elementary/Davis Creek Elementary
Transferred to Barboursville Elementary/Davis Creek Elementary. -
Spring Hill Elementary
Transferred back to Spring Hill due to low numbers at Barboursville/Davis Creek.
