The United States naval officer Matthew Perry negotiated with Japanese officials, so they would open up trade with Japan.
Japan was closed off from the rest of the world for 2 centuries and the united states wanted to trade with this strange country. If japan did not open its ports to trade and westernization the United States were ready to attack. -
Treaty of Versailles
After war world one germany surrendered and they had to pay for their crimes. The meeting was helded near Paris. The treaty stated that germany was responsible for the war and they were the ones that were punished the most. They lost land that belonged to them, their air force was taken away from them, and many of their citizens were becoming poor. -

Hitler devised a plan in which they would kidnap the leaders of the Bavarian government and force them at gunpoint to accept him as their leader. They then heared that leaders where suppose to be gathering at a beer hall. Hitler walks in with his men and shots one bullet to teh ceiling. Then attempts to force three officals into givimg him power and making germany a Nazi society. -

The nazi hold their 3rd Nürnberg and 100, 000 attend. The reason for the germans using Nürnberg as their meeting ground was because that area was considered rich in German history. They wanted to capitalize on that and they decided to use the place to spread their nazi influence. -
Hitler runs for president
The man hitler was runing again was President Hindenburg. Even with his popularity he did not become president and Hindenburg. was re-elected as president. -

The parliament building located in berlin was burnt down in the night. No one knew who had did it and hitler used this as an excuse to blame the communist. The communist were hitler competition and he needed to get rid of them. -

hitler re-introduced the conscription and all germans older than 19 had to join the army. The reason for this was because the united states were catching on to them and the germans knew they had to go to battle. They need all the soldiers they could acquire. -
Olymics
During the olymics the germans were disguising their treatment toward the gewish race. They acted as if germany had turned over a new leave. All germans treated the foreign countries as if they were noble and had nothing to hide. -
The massacre of Nanking
After there battle in Shanghai the japanese headed to nanking to continue their conquest. The people of nanking were terrified of the japanese and they retreated. If you attempted to surrender the japanese saw that as an act of cowardice and would kill you. They killed between 250,000 to 300,000 people and raped 20,000 women including elderly and children. -
Night of broken glass
during this day many jews were framed for crimes they did not commit. Thousands of jews were getting arrested and their church es being burnt down. They were then sent to concentration camps and there they would meet their demise. -
The Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact
The nazi signed the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact with the soviet to insure that they did not have to fight a two way war between the united states and the soviet. Germany eventually attacked the soveit union and broke the pact. -
The Tripartite Pact
Japan signs the Tripartite Pact, which is an alliance with Germany and Italy. The treaty was directed toward the United States establishing that if they interfered in one of their wars they would have to deal with all of them. The Pact also recognized that Germany and Italy had control of Europe and Japan could have control over Eastern Asia. -

Japan attacked the United States Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor killin more than 2,000 Americans and drawing the United States into World War II. The Pacific War between the japanese and the united states came to an end in after atomic bombs were dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
