  • I was born

    I was born
I was born on May 3rd, 2001 at 7:32 AM. I was born at Abington Memorial Hospital and I was two weeks late.
  • 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

    9/11 Terrorist Attacks
On September 11th, 2001, almost 3,000 people were killed in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. This affects me because security in general has gotten much more advanced and serious. When going to the airport, everyone has to go through security where they check all your bags and your person which was not present at the time of the attacks.

  • Physical Therapy

    Physical Therapy
When I was about 5 months old, I went to physical therapy because I could only turn my head to the right; I couldn't turn it to the left. My mom would put me on her hip and I would turn my head to the front but when she switched hips, I would still look to the back, that's how she found out. This is significant because if my mom hadn't noticed, I could have developed bad back/neck problems and scoliosis
  • First trip to California

    First trip to California
Many of my family members live in California and taking trips there has really impacted me. I first went there in 2002 but I do not remember that one. This has impacted me a lot because experiencing what it is like out there has made me realize that I would like to go to college out there and live out there. I like the weather better (i don't tolerate the cold well) and it is a very beautiful place.
  • Iraq war

    Iraq war
The Iraq war, i think, has made America more patriotic and more aware of what is going on in the world between the United States and other countries. Since the war, I have seen many more "Wounded Warrior" commercials and I have seen more news about the war.
  • Moving

    Moving
I used to live in Mayfair in Philadelphia when I was younger but I moved to Abington when I was 4. If i still lived in Mayfair, I would be going to a catholic school and I would not be as involved in diving, I would probably have given it up. Cheerleading is very big in the northeast so that would most likely be my passion. The neighborhood in Mayfair is not what it used to be; It is a lot more dangerous so I am glad I moved.
  • Amish School Shooting

    Amish School Shooting
There was an Amish school shooting in Lancaster, PA and 10 Amish girls were shot and sent to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia), at the same time I was there. I was there for my kidney surgery and the girl in the room next to me was shot in the school. Her father was handing out teddy bears to all of the other children and I still have my teddy bear to this day.

  • Kidney Surgery

    Kidney Surgery
When I was in kindergarten, I had reoccurring pain in my back and in my side so after many ultrasounds later, I was told i had a UPJ obstruction. I had surgery and now I have three scares on my torso. I was out of school for a long time so i was very behind (my mom said my homework looked like the boys homework because I didn't know how to color inside the lines).
  • iPhone

    iPhone
The first iPhone was released and has made a huge change to American culture. Now, most people have iPhones and Apple is up to their 7th edition of it. It has advanced technology drastically and has made it easier to communicate with others in many ways such as texting, facetime, making calls, using snapchat, and so on. I have the iPhone 6s and to be completely honest I am addicted to it and so are most people who have one.
  • My cats

    My cats
Having cats has taught me how to care for them and be more responsible. Many people are scared of them but being exposed to them at such an early age has taught me not to be. When I grow up I will most likely be a cat lady and I am completely okay with that.
  • The Great Recession (December 2007- June 2009)

The Great Recession (December 2007- June 2009)
The Great Recession occurred because many banks failed at the same time. The economy went down hill and my dad lost his job. This affected me because we lost a lot of money and my mother went back to college to be able to get a better job to help us pay the bills.

  • Start of cheerleading

    Start of cheerleading
I started cheerleading in 2nd grade for Saint Albert The Great Parish. It was competition cheerleading so I did not cheer on the sidelines; I don't like that kind of cheerleading. My mom was a cheerleader for St.Hubert's when she was young and she coached too. This is important to me because I did it for 8 years. Then I started Crispin Cheerleading for two years.
  • Election of Obama

    Election of Obama
Barack Obama being elected was a big step in American history. He was the first African American president to be elected and that really shows how American culture has changed throughout the years. I am experiencing and am apart of a generation that is unafraid of change and diversity.

  • US Airways Flight 1549

    US Airways Flight 1549
The plan landed on the Hudson River after multiple bird strikes caused the engines to fail. Thankfully, all of the people on the plane were saved and only some had injuries. This affected me significantly because I usually travel about once a year. Since that incident I have become very afraid of flying...and birds. Longer flights cause me more stress than the shorter ones and I try to fall asleep on the plane so I don't know whats happening.

  • One of many trips to Disneyland

One of many trips to Disneyland
If you did not know, I am a huge Disney fan and have been to Disneyland 5 times and Disney World 3 times. I don't quite remember my first trip to Disneyland because I was very young but experiencing it at a young age kept me going back to it. My family are also big Disney fans as well.
  • North American Blizzard

    North American Blizzard
The North American Blizzard brought about 27 inches of snow to the Philadelphia area. I live very close to Philadelphia, right on the border of Abington, Philadelphia, and Lower Moreland. This caused all public and parochial schools to close.

  • Affordable Health Care Act

    Affordable Health Care Act
The Affordable Health Care Act changed hospitals and physicians practices to make them more affordable, improve their technology, and improve their accessibility. This act made it possible for my mother to get a surgery in 2011 which saved her life.
  • Starting diving

    Starting diving
Diving has become a large part of my life in recent years. I started diving in the summer of 2012 but I did it because my friends were doing it. As time went on, they stopped diving but I continued and I hope to one day get a college scholarship for it.
  • Hurricane Sandy

    Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy was a massive storm that destroyed many parts of the Jersey Shore. My shore house was flooded which costed a lot of money to repair. Also, while at home, the power was out for hours, school was closed, and my trampoline was completely mangled from the harsh winds. Don't worry though, I purchased another trampoline soon after that.

  • Boston Bombing

    Boston Bombing
The Boston Marathon Bombing was a terrorist attack and the two bombs exploded about 12 seconds apart from each other near the finish line. The explosion killed 3 people and injured 264 others. This increased security and now, people with backpacks (who are not in school) tend to look suspicious.

  • Same-sex marriage legalized

    Same-sex marriage legalized
Same-sex marriage was legalized in Pennsylvania. The supreme court ruled the 1996 ban on gay marriage unconstitutional. My cousin, Nick, is gay and this made me extremely happy when I heard this was legal because it meant he could get married happily and that society was finally coming to it senses.

  • 3rd in the nation

    3rd in the nation
My cheerleading team and I went to the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida at the ESPN Center. We stayed at Disney's All-Star Movies resort and we got 3rd place out of 20 other teams and got bronze medals.
  • Amtrak Train Crash https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Philadelphia_train_derailment

    Amtrak Train Crash https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Philadelphia_train_derailment
My aunt frequently takes the train and told us she was planning a visit to New York. She works and lives in D.C and was going to come to see us after her New York trip. When we heard about the Amtrak Train Crash and that there were 8 dead and 200 wounded, we thought that she was most likely injured. We called her numerous times and finally she picked up. She said she was in a business meeting and was going to go catch another train. We were all extremely grateful for that business meeting.
  • The Pope

    The Pope
When Pope Francis came to Philadelphia for the 8th World Meeting of Families, many shops and streets were closed for his arrival. My cheerleading practice was cancelled because of the traffic and roads that would be closed to get there. Also, my friends and I had a "Papal Party" just for the fun of it.

  • Rio Summer Olympics

    Rio Summer Olympics
During the Summer Olympics, help in Rio de Janeiro, I was very sick with mono, strep, and walking pneumonia. I could not leaver the house or get up so I laid on my couch for two weeks watching the Olympics. I am so thankful that it was on because I would have been bored out of my mind without it. Also, it was very inspiring to see how hard the athletes trained their entire lives for this event.
