    The first color TV set was produced by RCA in 1954. The model was called the RCA CT-100 Color and it could project colored images onto a TV screen.     By 1955, half of all households in the U.S. contained a TV. After World War 2 ended, companies like RCA started making a lot more TV sets which increased the amount of TV's that people had. Many new broadcasts were being created (many with color) like NBC which also made more people want a TV of their own.     The first flat screen TV was introduced by the company Fujitsu in 1997. The TV was about 3 inches thick which was very thin for TV's at the time and weighing about 40 pounds. The screen was also about 42 inches diagonally which was a pretty big TV for this time period.
