The Americans suffered seven casualties, and the british marched on to concord. however, the revolutionaries used guerrela warfare to pick off about 125 british troops, striking back and defeating the british.

    The cherry valley massacre was an event in the revolutionary war in which was one of the most violent and brutal massacres of it's time. 30 innocent non- combatants were killed. the killers were a mix of loyalists, british forces, iriqouis, and seneca natives. most of the killing, however, was commited by the seneca. this is partly due to general walter butler's lack of control over his native allies.

Tarleton was known for executing prisoners himself in a rather blunt fashion, earning him the name "the butcher", making him all the more satisfying to defeat.
