    The first battle of the revolutionary war began. The British commander told the minutemen to stand down when someone shot a musket at the British soldiers and that lead to the first battle.
  • Concord

    The British marched on to concord, they found an empty arsenal. British men were lined up, to march back to Boston. The British men fell by dozen and then they made their way back to Boston the same night.
  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    The colonist didn’t fire until the last minute when the redcoats started to get closer and after the battle the colonist retreated. Colonist lost 450 men and the British had 1,000 casualties, the most deadliest battle of the war.
  • New York

    The British quickly attempted to take hold of New York City, they sealed into New York harbor in the summer of 1776 with the force of 3200 soldiers. The British had much more power over the colonist which lead to the colonist losing.
  • Trenton

    George Washington led 2,400 men to Trenton,New Jersey. They defeated the British soldiers with a surprise attack.
  • Philadelphia

    The second continental congress in Philadelphia debated their move. The loyalties that divided the colonists sparked endless debates at the congress with the great Britain. The campaign of Philadelphia was a way to assess things independently for the British. Helped gain control of Philadelphia.
  • Saratoga

    The surrender at Saratoga turned out to be the most important event of this war. This victory helped the Americans to win an alliance with France.
  • Valley Forge

    The continental army was low on food and supplies at the winter camp. Valley Forge is the place known for when America became a strong Continental Army. 2,000 soldiers died due to fighting to stay alive.

    Marquis De Lafayette was a military leader. He trained troops for the continental army. He helped the armed forces to become stronger than they have ever been.
  • York Town

    The colonists continued to battle Cornwallis. The British general decided to take the battle to Virginia and the British had surrendered in Yorktown. They were surrounded by 17,000 French and American Troops. They defeated the British.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The delegates signed the Treaty of Paris, which gives a barrier of a new nation. The treaty of Paris confirms the U.S independence. The United States expended from the Atlantic ocean across the Mississippi.
