Grandfather's death
Due to her paternal grandfather, Albert Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer, passing away, her father gains the title of 8th Earl Spencer. Diana acquires the title of The Lady Diana Spencer. Her family then moved from Park House, her childhood home, to her family's ancestral home of Althorn. -
Engagement
Diana's engagement to Prince Charles is announced at Buckingham Palace. She was selected as a potential bride by Camilla Parker Bowles, who would eventually become the Prince's second wife. -

Charity work
Diana became quickly known for her charity work. In January 1997, she visited mine fields to campaign against the use of landmines. She also participated in various campaigns to help AIDS patients. -
Death
Diana passed away in a high speed car accident. The public has widely blamed paparazzi for the wreck, claiming that the reporters were hounding the Princess.
