Jesus Presentation in the Temple
Luke 2:22-40: Forty days after Jesus' birth, as was the custom for Jews, He was carried to the temple to be presented to the Lord. Here, the prophetess, Ana, and Simeon noticed the Messiah, praised God and blessed Him. This showed that Jesus (and His parents) modelled obedience to God's Law even from birth. -

Jesus Goes Missing
Luke 2:41-52: Jesus visited the temple with His parents for the passover. There, He witnessed the ceremony and grasped His role as the Passover Lamb. His parents found Him in conversation with the learned men of the temple after He had been missing for 3 days. When His mother asked Him why He had allowed them to worry, He responded, "How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?" Luke 2:49 This story indicates Jesus' connection to His heavenly Father. -

Jesus' Baptism
Matt 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-23: Jesus was baptised at the age of 30 by his cousin, John the Baptist, who had been sent to prepare the way for His ministry. At His baptism, a dove landed on Him and a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased."
This showed His obedience, connection to God and marked the beginning of His ministry. -

Jesus meets Nicodemus
John 3:1-21: Jesus' meeting with Nicodemus showed patience and impartiality. Even though he was part of a group that consistently antagonised Jesus, He willingly sat with him and explained the gospel, which Nicodemus should have understood as a teacher of the Law. -

The Wedding at Cana
John 2:1-11: This was Jesus' first miracle and shows His compassion and wisdom. His mother asks Him to help the couple as their wine had run out. Jesus responded that it was not yet His time, but still helped the couple by turning water into wine. Jesus knew time was needed to complete His ministry and didn't rush it along, but still showed care for what worries us. -

Healing of the Crowds in Capernum
Matthew 8:1-4, Mark 1:32-34, Luke 4:40-41: Again, Jesus' compassion and understanding of his learners are seen here. He had healed Peter's mother-in-law and cast out demons on the Sabbath that day, but as it was not time to end His ministry, He did as little as possible to anger the Pharisees. However, He compassionately healed the sick and cast out devils once the Sabbath was over. -

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
John 5: The Religious leaders of Israel had misled the children of Israel into seeing the Sabbath as a burden. Jesus, seeing the lame man, treated him with compassion and healed him. He also used this to begin to re-teach the concept of the Sabbath as a delight, not a burdensome day. -
