    The Australian History started with the federation which creates the Common wealth of Australia, This federation was a symbol of uniting the people on the lands of Australia and giving them a chance to become Australians.

    Australian Aborigines League
    In 1932, William Cooper formed a Australian Aborigines League, this is to let the Aboriginals be represented into the Australian parliament. This started protests which faught against inequality, and Aboriginal rights.
  • Day of Mourning

    Day of Mourning
    Day of Mourning was a day to celebrate 150 years of white settlement in Australia, the Aboriginals decided to start their first protest on White Australians of inequality.For the Aboriginals, it was a day of being invaded for 150 years with no rights after the White Australians took control of Australia.
  • Aboriginal Citizenship

    Aboriginal Citizenship
    Although the Aboriginals are given citizenship as Australians, at other states they were still suffering from discriminations. This then leads to the slow adaptaion of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights formed by the United Nation.

    The Commonwealth Electoral Act gave franchise to all Aboriginal people, allowing them to have the right to vote as Australians in the federal election in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

    Freedom Rides
    The freedom rides was held by Charles Perkins, with his other university students. This was to see how Australia has abusive discriminations against Aboriginals and also show the world what the differences was between Western Australia and Southern Australia.
  • Referendum

    The Commonwealth 1967 Referendum had more than 90% votes to support the Federal government to legislate all Aboriginal people and also include them into the Australian population. This also meant that the Aboriginal would be taken responsibilty from the Federal government
  • Mabo Laws

    Mabo Laws
    Eddie Mabo, a Torres Strait islander that fought for the White Laws against Aboriginals. He did this because he wanted his land, Murray Island, to gain land rights. As he progress thorugh his life, a opportunity appeared, in the University he worked at. Being able to discuss and argue his point for his land's rights which he succeeded in and made it into to high courts to regain his land rights.

    National Sorry Day
    The first ever marked National Sorry Day by hundreds of activities done around the country. This was because of how White Australians removed/took away Aborginal children and claimed themselfs doing the right thing and should not be sorry about what they have done in the past which was the stolen generation.
  • Reconciliation

    Reconciliation
    More than 300,000 people participated in the Reconciliation walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. As a Aboriginal tent ambassy is set up in Sydney which held the Olympics in 2000 to attract the attentions of the world about the serious Indigenous problems happening in Australia. Through the many other supports from other states of Australia, many walks across other bridges were held, which made great success of this reconciliation and finally united the White and Aborginal Australians together.
