After Microsoft started bundling copies of Internet Explorer with its Windows 95 OS, Netscape Navigator fell into disuse. As a last ditch effort, the Netscape corporation changed course, releasing the code for its browser as open source, and went on to found Mozilla, creator of the popular Firefox browser.
