Birth
Laurie was born on 25 February 1847 in a small village in Italy called Lago di Como. He was born surrounded by his father and some nurses in the Moriggia Pelascini Hospital. One of them was her aunt, who had been a nurse in that hospital for a long time. He was the son of an Italian composer and musician, and the son of Mr Laurence.
