Before Harry Truman gave the word to drop the atomic bombs the U.S. demanded Japan to surrender. -
The bombing of Hiroshima
The B-19 Enola Gay was the aircraft with the orders to drop the first atomic bomb over the city of Hiroshima. Resulting in 80,000 people dying. -
Soviet Russia goes against Japan
After the war in Europe is over Soviet Russia joins the war against Japan. -
Bombing of Nagasaki
After Hiroshima was bombed the U.S. launched a second atomic bomb upon the city of Nagasaki. -
Hirohito announces surrender
After both atomic bombings Japan's Emperor Hirohito orders a surrender even though his military leaders did not want to surrender. Emperor Hirohito announced the surrender over the radio in Japan, this was the first time the Japanease people have ever heard his voice. -
