    The Soviet created nuclear weapons and used them from 1942 to 1949. They created these weapons to threaten America because they wanted to be on equal terms as America already had Nuclear Weapons. These weapons affected the Cold war because through the creation of the nuclear weapons they attacked countries. These weapons affected liberalism in a negative way because it was restricting peoples rights.

    Yalta conference
    A conference held in Yalta, Ukraine in 1945. The conference was held to discuss how Britain, the US and, the USSR wanted to re-draw the lines of Europe. Throughout the conference several agreements were made including that free elections were going to be available in liberated countries and that Germany was going to divided into four. This conference started to form the spheres of influence. This effected liberalism being that elections were now made free and that was a form of freedom.

    The Potsdam conference was a conference held in the summer of 1945 where the big three met (US,Britain, USSR) in Potsdam Germany and was the last of the World War II meetings. They arrived at several agreements such as, punishment for war criminals and land boundaries and reparations. This conference started the Cold War and effected liberalism being that they wanted to create new borders and restrict some freedoms.

    Brussels Treaty
    The Treaty Of Brussels was an agreement signed by Britain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. This agreement was signed to create a collective defense alliance. The goal of this treaty was to encourage the United States to give security/protection to Western Europe. The way this agreement impacted the Cold War was that it protected certain countries and gave them security and comfort. This agreement affected liberalism because it gave certain countries freedom.

    The Marshall plan was a thirteen billion dollar plan introduced in 1948. The plan was introduced to help European countries devastated by WWII recover. This plan was larger than the Truman Doctrine.The purpose of this act was to ensure that Western European economies were stable after the World War Two events. This plan affected the Cold War because it was a settlement made before the cold war started. This plan helped to impact liberalism because it gave European countries a sense of freedom.

    Joseph Stalin was a leader of the Soviet Union from the 1920's to 1953. Stalin's goal was to ensure that the Soviet Union was lead efficiently although it was ran with terror as well. Stalin died on March 5th 1953. Stalin contributed to the Cold War because he wanted to gain as much power as he could to defend himself.

    Northern American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) was a combined organization (introduced in September of 1957) of the United States and Canada. They provided aerospace warning and protection for Northern America. NORAD helped in the Cold War because they provided protection through satellites. This had an impact on liberalism because it was an organization that used deterrence.

    The Bay of Pigs is an Inlet in Cuba. Several world events happened here including the Invasion. The invasion of the Bay of Pigs occurred in 1961 and was attempted by the US-Sponsored Cuban exiles, in their failed attempt they wanted to reverse Fidel Castro's Cuban revolution. They first invaded a military in Northern Cuba. This invasion effected the Cold War because it was considered an attempted prevention of communism.

    The Afghanistan/Soviet war was a war that lasted over nine years and was brought to be because the Soviet 40th Army invaded Afghanistan in order to prop up the communist government of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan against a growing insurgency. This affected the Cold War because it was a disagreement being that it was anti-Communist Vs. Communist. This affected liberalism because in communism there were no rights and freedoms while anti-communists believed in that.
