Fact 2: Jews wanted land because Solomon built temple for god there, and Christians want it because Jesus was born and resurrected there. Fact 3: The Crusades lasted 200 years. Fact 4: Women would fight in the Crusades Fact 5: Muslims were there too.

    Fact 1: Renaissance means "rebirth" in French. Fact 2: Many great art pieces came from the Renaissance. Fact 3: During the Renaissance, the Protestant Reformation happened. Fact 4: At the beginning of the Renaissance, the church was very corrupt. Fact 5: At the end of the Renaissance, the church was slightly less corrupt.

    Fact 2: There are theories that she was a man, or that she never even died and lived a long life.
    Fact 3: She "received a vision from angels" telling her to fight in the war.
    Fact 4: She may have had epilepsy or schizophrenia.
    Fact 5: She was a commander for the army, but she did not participate in combat.

    Fact 1: The Printing Press had movable type.
    Fact 2: Thanks to the printing press, many people could read the Bible on their own.
    Fact 3: Gutenberg was a German Blacksmith and an inventor.
    Fact 4: Gutenberg also created oil-based ink.
    Fact 5: He invented the press to offset losses from trying to sell metal mirrors.

    Fact 1: Constantinople was the capital of the Byzantine Empire.
    Fact 2: Constantinople was in the middle of a trade route in between Europe and Asia.
    Fact 3: Constantinople's walls were no match for cannons.
    Fact 4: Took a couple months to capture.
    Fact 5: The walls were refortified before the siege even began.

    Christopher Columbus Lands in the New World
    Fact 1: He had thought that he had discovered a new route to India.
    Fact 2: That is why the Native Americans are called "Indians".
    Fact 3: Christopher Columbus was known to be an idiot before he discovered America.
    Fact 4: He was known as a hero afterwards.
    Fact 5: The travel took several months.

    Columbian Exchange

    Fact 1: It is uncertain when the exchange ended, but it lasted till the 1600's. Fact 2: America did not have horses or cattle until the exchange. Fact 3: Europe did not have potatoes or corn until the exchange. Fact 4: Diseases were spread and it sucked. Fact 5: Europe received Turkeys.

    Fact 4: Not abolished until 1834.
    Fact 5: Protestants were also put to death.

    Fact 2: The triangular trade took place.
    Fact 3: Slaves were stuffed into a ship during the voyage. They were chained down and often the laid in urine and poo.
    Fact 4: Many slaves owned their own slaves prior to becoming a slave.
    Fact 5: Slaves were sold at auctions.

    Fact 1: He had 6 wives. Fact 2: He was fat, even for a king. Fact 3: He disagreed with the pope and separated from the Popes version of Christianity. Fact 4: He was the father of Bloody Mary, one of the worst rulers ever. Fact 5: His son Edward became King after him.

    Fact 1: Martin Luther wrote the 95 Theses in Latin because it was meant for church official(only higher class could read Latin well)
    Fact 2: When he was asked to double check his work to make sure he agrees with it, he said yes and that he couldn't change any of it.
    Fact 3: He wasn't the first to criticize indulgences, but he was the biggest.
    Fact 4: His Theses are translated without his permission.
    Fact 5: It might have been the translation that started the Protestant Reformation, not Theses.

    Fact 1: He found shipwrecked Europeans that could translate for him with the Natives.
    Fact 2: He was from Spain.
    Fact 3: They had guns and horses.
    Fact 4: The Aztecs had predicted their downfall recently by astrology and they saw Cortes as a god.
    Fact 5: Cortes was cruel.

    Fact 1: She is known as one of the best rulers ever.
    Fact 2: Her "sea dogs" would steal gold from other countries ships.
    Fact 3: Queen Elizabeth reverted back to their own religion instead of catholic.
    Fact 4: Queen Elizabeth once set her own boats on fire and sailed them into enemy boats to protect the land.
    Fact 5: Queen Elizabeth banned peasants from wearing the color purple.

    Fact 1: The church became a little bit less corrupt. Fact 2: Indulgences were dropped. Fact 3: Taught priests how to be priests. Fact 4: Still hated Martin Luther and the protestants. Fact 5: Burned people.

    Ivan the Terrible's Reign

    Fact 1: He was the first tsar of Russia.
    Fact 2: During his reign, he wanted to expand Russia, so he had many wars.
    Fact 3: Ivan kept suspecting that his followers would turn on him so he killed them. He even killed his own son.
    Fact 4: He didn't go completely nuts until after his wife died. He thought it was a murder and not a natural death.
    Fact 5: He abandoned his country without any leader.

    Fact 1: The Peace of Augsburg allowed german princes to choose Lutheranism or Catholicism
    Fact 2: Calvinists were still ignored.
    Fact 3: Lutheranism was created by Martin Luther.
    Fact 4: Churches back then were very corrupt.
    Fact 5: This is an effect of the Restoration.

    Fact 2: Known to be "Invincible"
    Fact 3: Was destroyed by storms many times.
    Fact 4: 18,000 soldiers
    Fact 5: England beat the Armada by sailing a ship that was on fire straight into the armada.

    Fact 1: The Edict of Nantes allowed Huguenots to practice their religion legally.
    Fact 2: The Edict of Nantes still stated that Catholicism was still the main religion of France.
    Fact 3: Henry IV used to be a Huguenot before he became king.
    Fact 4: This broke the rule that was One King, One Faith, One Law.
    Fact 5: Edict of Nantes didn't last very long after he handed his throne down.
  • William Shakespeare's Death

    William Shakespeare's  Death
    Fact 1: He died at the age of 52.
    Fact 2: His death date is based off of the church burial records, it is unsure when he actually died.
    Fact 3: It is presumed from church records that Shakespeare got sick from drinking too much alcohol and died.
    Fact 4: Shakespeare was a playwright.
    Fact 5: The Two Noble Kinsmin was the last play he ever wrote.

    Fact 1: It was a statement of civil liberties sent to Charles I of France by the English Parliament.
    Fact 2: It was initiated by Sir Edward Coke
    Fact 3: No taxes may be levied without consent of Parliament.
    Fact 4: Charles ignored the petition.
    Fact 5: NO fact 5 sorry.
  • King Charles the First Executed

    Fact 1: He was the first king executed by his own people.
    Fact 2: Only a couple years after executing their King, England called France "savages" because they killed their king too.
    Fact 3: King Charles was executed because he wanted too much power and he mistreated the Parliament.
    Fact 4: While Charles was in captivity, he made a deal with the Scot to invade England which would be known as the second English civil war.
    Fact 5: King Charles was a terrible ruler.

    Fact 1: Chinese versus British
    Fact 2: British started trading opium to get China high so they can persuade them to give them silver easier.
    Fact 3: China didn't like this and started saying no to opium.
    Fact 4: British didn't like that, so they started a war.
    Fact 5: Great Britain won.
