Captin Cook arrives on Hawaii
While Cook was searching for a trade route called the northwest passage, He then discoverd Hawaii. At that time Cook sighted Oahu first and then Kauai. 'He named the islands the Sandwhich islands in honor of the Earl of Sandwhich, who then was the first lord of the british admiralty'. -
Kalaniopuu's death
After Kalaniopu'us death the two rival groups of cheifes were formed. One side was the cheifs of Kona, who had convinced King K to join them. The other side was the young king, Kiwala'o,his uncle, keawema'uhili, and his haf brother Keoua. During two months the two sides were at war. It took place in Moku'ohai in the summer.King K's forces won, and Kiwala'o was killed. -

When King K conquerd Maui and Molokai, he then had his attention s to Oahu. In 1795 King K invades the shore of Waikiki beach and the army of Nu'uanu,Hundreds of Oahu warriors died driven over the valleys pali cliffs. So in 1810 King Kaumalii king of Kauai surrenderd his islands,and would let King K be the ruler when he died. As Kamehameha fufilled his destiny of uniting all of the isalnds. -

After Kamehameha deid, His son Liholiho became king to replace him, with King K's favorite wife Ka'ahumanu. Ka'ahumanu, did not like the Kapu system . So she didnt follow it.
