    Rodney King
    On May 3rd, 1991, Rodney King was recorded being beaten by L.A.P.D officers. King was 25 years old at the time of the attack. He was driving on a Los Angeles highway, and had been pulled over for speeding. As he exited the vehicle, King was shot by a stun gun, and brutally beaten. Riots were triggered by this film of the attack, bringing up concerns of racism and police brutality. King was 25 years old at the time of the attack. (The Washington Post).

    The violent eleven day standoff occurred in Boundary Country, Idaho. Federal agents and U.S. Marshals faced off against Randy Weaver; with his wife, children, and friend, Kevin Harris. This incident was brought to the surface after years of investigation into Weaver by the FBI, local authorities, the AFT, and Secret Services. The deputies of the United States Marshals Service came to arrest Randy Weaver under a bench warrant after his failure to appear on federal firearms charges. (History).

The contract itself had previously been drafted, consisting of ten bills. The contract consisted of reducing the size of the government, cutting taxes, and welfare reform.     The bombing of Oklahoma City occurred on April 19th, 1995. A security guard named Timothy McVeigh, committed an unforgettable mass murder. He had rented a Ryder truck; parking it outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. In the vehicle was a bomb made from deadly chemicals. McVeigh had drove off in the getaway car, leaving the ignited fuse. The surrounding area was in devastation. 168 children and adults killed, and many injured, all within seconds. (FBI Gov)

    The fear of the “millennium bug” or computer deficiency started on January 1st, 2000.​​ This flaw meant computers could not interpret 00 as 2000, but as 1900. Leading to an increased amount of interest rates from the mishap of computer calculations. Centers of technology and transportation aspects were in danger. This bug was a software and hardware problem. To fix this issue, the U.S. detected missile launches in Russia. Which was the cause and effect. (National Geographic Organization).

    This election was the closest presidential election in American History. Republican George W. Bush won the election, defeating Democrat Al Gore.Gore did win the popular vote by about half a million votes.The determination of who would win presidency resided in Florida. With several hundred votes in Florida; The winner was determined out of more than a hundred million ballots casted nationwide. With that, Bush had moved into the White house under favorable circumstances. (Bookings).

    This was one of the most shocking and deadly terrorist attacks. With 3,000 people dead and many injured. Two planes hijacked by Islamic Jihadists had plowed into the New York World Trade Center. Another into the Washington D.C. Pentagon. The fourth targeted The White House or U.S. Capitol. Millions had watched the planes submerge into the World Trade Center in person or on television. The aftermath was detrimental is to forever be remembered in American History. (Kruse and Zelizer, 249.)

    This devastating natural disaster is known as Hurricane Katrina. The category 5 storm took place among the Gulf Coast states, in the area of Texas to Central Flordia. Consisting of strong winds, heavy rainfall, and subsequent flooding; Killing over 1,8000 people and damaged over 270,000 homes. Damage estimates exceeded over 180 billion dollars. Hurricane Katrina represented “compassionate conservation” itself; Which President Bush embraced. (Kruse and Zelizer, 286.)

    Elected over Arizona Senator John McCain by 365 to 173 electoral votes; Barack Obama was the newest U.S president. He faced challenges; Economic collapse, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and acts of terrorism. He had proposed an unprecedented federal spending to aid the economy. He had hopes in the renovation of the America. During his first term as president, he signed three signature bills. As well as, pressed financial reform legislation, and efforts for consumer protection. (The White House)
