- 1st battle of the Texas revolution to gain independence from Mexico.
- Colonel John Moore led the army soldiers to fight.
- The battle continued with strong Texians in which there were no casualties

Battle of Concepcion
- Took place outside of San Antonio and led by Texan rebels.
- The Mexican army surprised the Texan rebels with canons and were ready to fight on the 28th of October.
- Texans were hungry for independence and led to victory regardless of the Mexican army’s advantages.

Texas Declaration of Independence
- Texas officially declared its independence from Mexico.
- George Childress was the author of this document in which he has very little help from a few others.
- 59 delegates signed the document and each one represented a settlement in Texas.

Battle of the Alamo
- A battle that lasted for thirteen days as Texas fought for their independence from Mexico.
- The Texans were highly outnumbered by the Mexican army making it a battle of victory or death.
- Unfortunately they didn’t win the battle, yet their determination for independence became stronger.

Goliad Massacre
- More than 300 Texan rebels that were imprisoned were executed by the Mexicans.
- Santa Anna didn’t want to spare the Texans and made sure to give orders to burn and dump the bodies.
- The prisoners were taken to the fort of Goliad where the Mexicans did not hesitate to open fire on them.

Battle of San Jacinto
- Final battle of the Texas Revolution.
- Santa Ana himself was captured and forced to sign the treaty that would ultimately give Texas their freedom.
- Texans had been through many massacres that were at the hands of the Mexican army and had no mercy during this battle where hundreds of Mexican soldiers were killed.

The Battle of Plum Creek
- A lasting gun fight that consisted of two days.
- The Indians many women and children were captured.
- Over 80 warriors (Indian) were captured and only seven Texans were wounded.
- This battle descended from the Council House fight in San Antonio where many Comanche women and warriors were killed

Texas Santa Fe Expedition
- President Lamar wanted Texas to have a part of the tradition and to have Texas jurisdiction over the Santa Fe area.
- William Dryden was approached by Lamar in which he agreed to be a commissioner of Texas and to present a change in government.
- The expedition failed and was poorly planned. Several livestock, supplies and wagons were lost.

Archives War
- A dispute between moving national archives from Austin to Houston.
- Sam Houston wanted to make Houston the capital again and the citizens of Austin were going to be armed resistors.
- Ms.Eberly warned the citizens of Austin when they were attempting to load the wagons with the archives.
- When the archives were safely return to Austin, the citizens were overjoyed.

Black Bean Incident
- To determine who would be executed, Huerta had white beans and black beans in a pot.
- Texians were blindfolded and given orders to pick a bean.
- There were seventeen officers that blindly picked black beans and these officers were allowed to write letters home and were the ones executed.
