Space Shuttle in Columbia
The Space Shuttle Columbia was the first operational orbiter in NASA's Space Shuttle fleet. It completed its maiden flight in 1981. On February 1, 2003, tragedy struck when the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated upon re-entering Earth's atmosphere. All seven crew members tragically lost their lives in the disaster.

Beating of Rodney King
The beating of Rodney King happened on March 3, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. He was brutally beaten by four LAPD officers after a high speed car chase. This lead to protests and many national debates about police brutality and racial injustice.

Lewinsky Scandal and Impeachment

Columbine
The Columbine High School shooting occurred on April 20, 1999, in Columbine, Colorado, when two students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, carried out a shooting rampage. They killed 12 students and one teacher before taking their own lives.

9/11 Terroristic Attack
On September 11, 2001 there was a horrific terrorist attack that revealed the nation's vulnerabilities and swept aside the easy confidence America had held when it seemed to be the last superpower standing in the wake of the Cold War.
