  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    This war was a war between The French and The British. They found over a section of land in North America. It lasted close to around 7 years. George Washington was the one who gave the first blow in the war.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This was an order issued by a man named King George III or Britain. This took place after the French and Indian War. This was there to try to help prevent conflicts with the Native Americans. After it all it made it so British tribes weren't able to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act was a law that imposed taxes and sugar and other goods into the American colonies. To help pay off debt from the French and Indian war. The British parliament was who started the Sugar Act. This helped them raise money.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act took place right after the Sugar Act. It required the Americans to pay taxes on printed materials. Many American colonists refused to pay Stamp Act tax. The Stamp act was also passed to help raise money just like the Sugar Act.
  • Quartering Act

    It got passed almost right after the Stamp Act. This Act was an act that was forced to make American Colonist to provide housing. It was another source of tension between the British government and the colonists. It forced colonists to provide food and drinks.
  • Townshend act

    This was a few years after the Quartering Act. It was a series of laws put out by the British Parliament so we have taxes on the important goods. Enforced boycotts from the American Colonists help pay the expenses involved in governing the American colonies.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This event was very violent between the colonists and the British. There was a bunch of British soldiers and a huge crowd of colonists. The soldiers sticked first and killed a bunch of colonists. Which this event later leads to the American Revelation.
  • Tea Act

    This act got a lot closer to the Declaration of Independence. This act allowed British people to sell tea directly to the colonies. They also had a free export from Britain. This act later lead to the Boston Tea Party.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    This was a protest by the American colonists. They were upset about the Tea Act so they protested. Colonists went out and dumped a whole bunch of Tea into the Boston Harbor. This was because of them being angry because of what they were being taxed for.
  • Intolerable Acts

    These acts followed the Tea Act. These acts were meant to punish the colonists and assert British authority. They punished them mainly because of the Boston tea party. This also led to the colonies and the Britain not liking each other even more.
  • First continental congress

    It was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies. They came together to make sure that they discuss their concerns that they have. The primary accomplishment of the First Continental Congress was among the colonies to boycott British goods. They wanted to find a peaceful resolution to the conflicts.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    This event took place during the American Revolutionary War. It marked the very first engagements between the British and the colonies. The Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, and the Stamp Act were the events that lead up to the Battle of Lexington and Concord. This battle was the first battle of the American War of Independence.
  • Second Continental Congress

    The Congress created a new country that it first named the United Colonies. In 1776 renamed the United States of America. The Congress began convening in Philadelphia, on May 10, 1775, with representatives from 12 of the 13 colonies, after the Battles of Lexington and Concord.     Battle of Bunker Hill
    This battle started because the British were trying to keep control of everything. It was a very bloody battle. It also took place in a bunch of hills. It was in Boston acrossed the Charles River.

    Deceleration of Independence

  • Battle of New York

    Battle of New York
    This battle can also be called the battle of long island. The British defeated the Continental Army and gained access to the strategically important Port of New York, which they held for the rest of the war. It was one of the biggest wars.   • Battle of Trenton

    Battle of Trenton
    This battle took place a good amount after the Deceleration of Independence. After British forces captured New York City and George Washington's Patriot army retreated to Pennsylvania. Washington crossed the Delaware River on Christmas, and surprised German mercenaries garrisoning Trenton, New Jersey in support of the British.

  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This was the absolute turning point in the Revolutionary war. This battle helped secure the independence of the United States. There was two battles that were 18 days apart. This battle was also one of the shortest.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    Battle of Monmouth
    The Americans claimed victory because they occupied the battlefield after the British left. This greatly increased American morale and strengthened Washington's position as commander of the army.   • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    This was the last real war of the American Revolution. This war was very beneficial. British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered his army of some 8,000 men to General George Washington at Yorktown, giving up any chance of winning the Revolutionary War.   • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
