    The Indian Removal Act
    The Indian Removal Act was done so natives could leave their land and go to what Andrew Jackson considered the new Indian land. Relocated all the tribes to Oklahoma once that was done they gave the land to new settlers.
  • The Trail of Tears

    The Trail of Tears
    5,000 Native Americans died on the trail of tears due to what they had to endure on that journey which took many lives of Native Americans: the temperature, no food, sickness, starvation.
  • The Civil War

    The Civil War
    The Civil War was caused by the moral issue of slavery the confederacy wanted slavery to keep on going but the union did not want it to be an ongoing issue it is not right to own people and treat them like nothing. The union won the fight with no more slavery the people were now free to do as they wanted.
  • The Reconstruction Treaties

    The Reconstruction Treaties
    The Reconstruction treaties, five civilized tribes agreed to the Reconstruction treaties. Most of them sided with the confederacy so in the treaty the U.S. had amnesty for all the crime the five tribes had done and for peace and friendship with the U.S.

    The Dawes Act was an assimilation tactic for the U.S. and divided the land into individual plots for ownership to make way for white settlement.
  • The Oklahoma Land Rush

    The Oklahoma Land Rush
    Land in Indian territory was opened for settlement. The land belonged to whoever got to it first and was very cheap.
  • The Indian Reorganization Act

    The Indian Reorganization Act
    The Indian Reorganization Act allowed for the trial of government and let the Indian tribes have greater control over their land.
