  • The new Historicists

    Larry Laudan was one of the philosophers of science like Thomas Kuhn called "new historicists"( N. Thomas, 2017). The Merriam Webster definition of new historicism, "A method of literary criticism that emphasizes the historicity of a text by relating it to the configurations of power, society, or ideology in a given time". They believed in the idea of one ruling paradigm, however one of the challenge was creating a model of that change from paradigm to paradigm.

    Laudan's most notable bit of work was a book called Progress and Its Problems.
