  • Karl Popper 1902-1994

In “Are Contradictions Embracing?” Popper argues that contradictions are not always meant to be assumed false but that they should be embraced. He also mentions that contradictions should be not admitted outright. Chapter 8 Pg 201-202 Binder, David, et al. The Logical Writings of Karl Popper. Springer International Publishing AG, 2022.
  • Karl Popper 1902-1994

Between the years of 1947 and 1949 Karl Popper exhibited his theory of deductive logic. Closely tied in with this theory was his theory of deductibility as well as his theory of logical constants that placed a structure to his theory of deductive logic. • Karl Popper 1902-1994

In “ The Trivialization of Mathematical Logic” Popper criticizes mathematics and brings forth some of the flaws of following math without question. He states that the logic of mathematic “rests entirely upon the definitions of the formative linguistic signs involved.” He later on argues that mathematics is all based on an agreement that something is true and can not be shown. • Karl Popper 1902-1994

In “A Note on Tarski’s Definition of Truth” Popper critiques Tarki’s attempt to define truth using mathematics. Popper argues that to define truth, it is not always necessary to have an infinite number of situations where a certain variable always stands true, since most times proving an infinite number of situations brings a lot of complications.
