The Black Plague, or Black Death, swept through Europe in the late 1340’s and early 1350’s. The bacteria that caused the illness was carried by fleas that bit infected animals. The fleas would then bite humans, who would catch the disease. The people would develop large, painful boils on their bodies that were filled with blood. Also, the skin of people who were infected turned black, which led to the name Black Plague, and their flesh would rot away while they were living

The Ireland potato blight, known as the Great Famine occurred in 1845. An airborne fungus called phtophthora infestans swept across the country and caused the potato plants to turn black and die. When the potatoes were dug up they looked safe to eat at first, but after a few days they developed large black splotches that looked like rot. The country’s population, most of which grew potatoes, were left with very little food to eat. The people couldn’t afford to buy food, and th

The travelers were stranded on the mountains when a large snow storm hit. Food was already low, and all the food they had was soon eaten. Due to the large amount of snow the group couldn’t continue their trip. Soon people began to think that if one person died then the rest would be able to survive. During the drought the air was filled with dust, and the wind blew it hundreds of miles in some cases. The Dust Bowl was caused by the drought as well as poor agricultural practices. As the land was plowed the top layer of sod that held the soil in place was removed. So, d

Game 6 of 2009 World Series
On November 4th, 2009 the sixth game of the year’s World Series took place between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees. This event was important, because it was in this game that the Yankees achieved their fourth victory to win the series. I would want to visit the event to change the result of the game, and help the Phillies to win the World Series. I would do this by telling the team and the pitcher, Pedro Martinez, what pitches and areas the opposing batters would hit. Also, I woul
