  • Concord

    Also a short battle between Americans and Britain this marked the first armed conflict between American and Britain and its thirteen colonies
  • Lexington

    The redcoats found themselves in Lexington, Massachusetts on April 19. They later sent shots into a departing militia. Eight minutemen were killed and 10 were injured , this Battle only lasted 15 minutes.
  • Bunker Hill

    General Thomas Gage came up with an idea to strike at the militiamen near Bunker Hill. He sent 2,400 British soldiers up the hill. Colonist didn't fight back until the redcoats were extremely close and though they suffered a number of casualties, Britain suffered more. This was known to be the deadliest battle of the Revolutionary War.
  • New York

    As a plan to stop rebellion Britain planned to ambush New York and seize it. They came in with a group 32,000 men and some of these men were German soldiers. The colonist failed to succeed this battle.
  • Trenton

    Washington led 2,400 men in boats across the Delaware River eager for a victory. They marched to where they planned to fight and defeated a group of German soldiers in a surprise attack.
  • Philadelphia

    This was when Philadelphia was captured by the British
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga was the place that General John Burgoyne surrendered , it was actually one of the most important events of the war. This influenced Franceś belief that AMericans would win the war. This is what made America and France join alliances.
  • Valley Forge

    Though the alliance was helpful , Washington and his troops were suffering to stay alive at the winter camp know as Valley Forge. Over 2,000 troops died and survivors didn´t desert.
  • Marquis De Lafayette

    He was a foreign soldier who came to help the continental army , with his help they became a pretty solid army.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown was the place General Cornwallis camped with an army of 7,500 men. He planned to make Yorktown a stronger base then claim Virginia, and the join Clintonś forces north
  • Treaty of Paris

    A peace talk began in Paris of 1782 and later the Treaty of Paris was made. It was a document that confirmed the U.S independent and set the limits of the new nation. It expanded the U.S majorly.
