Timothy William Burton
Tim was born on August 26, 1958.
Tim Burton has had a passion for drawing ever since he was young.
Tim was enrolled in the California Institute of the Arts, than became an animator for Disney Studios. -
Beginning Animation
Tim started his career creating short films such as Vincent (1982), and The Stalk of the Celery Monster (1979).
Pee Wee's Big Adventure (1985), was his first ever feature film.
Beetlejuice (1988), was the film that allowed Tim to establish himself as a Filmmaker, his career only bloomed from then on. -
Growing as a FIlmmaker
Tim Burton became more mainstream with Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992).
He later incorporated his stop motion design in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
In 1990 he created his first ever collaboration with the popular film star Johnny Depp, In Edward Scissorhands. -

Burton's Achievements
Tim was nominated for an academy award for his animated film Corpse Bride (2005).
In 2007 he received a Golden Lion for lifetime achievements at the Venice film Festival.
Tim has been able to recreate some of his previously created films such as Beetlejuice (2024) and the sequel to Alice in Wonderland (Alice Through the Looking Glass, 2016). -
Tim Burton Exhibition
Tim Burton's iconic and unique style will live on as well as his films.
An exhibition has been opened in the Design Museum this year showcasing Tim's artwork and design. The exhibit is supposed to continue touring until April of 2025.
