Sopwith Pup
The Sopwith pup was invented by Herbert Smith and was flown first by Harry Hawker.
- It was the first british single seated fighter plane which decreased in weight
- It had a top speed of 180 km/h and a rotary engine and a fuel tank which could let it fly for 309 km without refueling!
- It had a single vicker gun which was syncronised with the propellor to stop it from shooting itself -
Sopwith Camel
First World War, British single seated biplane fighter designed by Herbert Smith and was also flown first by Harry Hawker at Brooklands.
- It was tail heavy making it very sensitive which could make it harder for the enemies to shoot it down
- Had 4 Bombs which the pilot could throw out of the cockpit
- It had a piece of aliminum at the front of the plane to make it lighter.
- It could reach a top speed of 185km/h and also had a rotary engine but had instead two vicker guns. -
Hawker Fury
The hawker fury was designed by Sydney Camm
- It was a British Biplane fighter plane used by mainly the Royal Air Force in the 1930s
- It broke the world record of the fastest plane at 200mph because of its new rolls royce engine
- It had 4 vicker guns more than any plane at the time. -
Hawker Hurricane
The hawker hurricane was designed by Sydney Camm
- It could reach a top speed of 547 km/h
- It had four vicker guns which were many more than any of the aeroplane at the time
- It had a success rate of 60 percent of all the planes in world war 2 -
Hawker Typhoon
The Hawker Typhoon was designed by Sydney Camm.
- It could reach a top speed of 652 km/h.
- It is originated from Great Britain.
- The Hawker Typhoon has 12 machine guns.
- 3317 Hawker Typhoons were built. -
Hawker Hunter
The hawker hunter was invented by Hawker Siddely
- Broke the speed world record at the time of 1,150 km/h
- It was supplied with four 30mm ADEN cannon, with 150 rounds of ammunition per gun. -
Hawker Harrier
The harrier was invented by Sydney Camm and was one of the most succesful fighter jets of the time.
- The first reason is because it had vertical take off which emant it could land and take off anywhere without a runway
- It had one vicker gun and one lewis gun and was carrying a maximum of 1000 lb of bombs.
