Thomas Kuhn began his studies with a focus on Physics for which he received his Bachelors from Harvard College in 1942. He has interest in philosophy of science but continued to focus on physics to the point where he received his Masters and Doctorate from Harvard in the years to come. -
Thomas Kuhn publishes "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions"
At Aged 40, Thomas Kuhn published " the Structure of Scientific Revolutions". This book outlined the four step process needed for a paradigm shift. It goes as follows. Phase One: Normal science where essentially science is business as usual. What we know works and continues to work. Phase Two: Crisis Model. Where too many anomalies have added up and new things need to be tired. Phase Three: Model Revolution where new ideas are created to solve problems. Phase Four: Paradigm shift. -
Debate between Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn
In London at the International Colloquium in Philosophy of Science, Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn had a debate in this subject. The debate raged to the point where both scientists could no longer hide how much they disagreed on topics.Popper has been a name in Philosophy of Science for years previously, while Kuhn had just published "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" so it was an interesting way to see the old manners of thinking versus the new. -

After serving as the M. Taylor Pyne Professor of Philosophy and History of Science at Princeton, In 1973 he accepted a position as Laurence S. Rockefeller Professor Philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He held this position until his retirement in 1991. -
Death
Thomas Kuhn died in Massachusetts aged 73 from cancer. -
