  • Thomas Kuhn (1922-1996) Promotion to professor

In 1958 Thomas Kuhn was promoted to associate professor and was given tenure. This was a major mile stone for him due to Stanford refusing to give him tenure in 1956. In the fall of 1958 Kuhn was given a one-year fellowship at Stanford. This promotion was huge because that is where he wrote The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, his most significant work. • Thomas Kuhn (1922-1996) Black-Body Theory and the Quantum Discontinuity

In the 1960s Kuhn published another book called the Black-Body Theory and the Quantum Discontinuity. This book was about the early history of quantum theory. Kuhn's book argued about the orginallity of quantum theory. Kuhn argued that Einstein was the first to bring up this theory and not Planck like the scientific community first thought.
