Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 18, 1922 to Minette Stroock Kuhn and Samuel L. Kuhn, an industrial engineer who were both Jewish. Kuhn was an American historian and philosopher of science whose 1962 book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions was influential in the science and academia realms.

Copernican Revolution

1957

Kuhn published his first book The Copernican Revolution in 1957 and primarily focused on the heliocentric theory development during the Renaissance Period. Kuhn notes, "each new scientific theory preserves a hard core of the knowledge provided by its predecessor and adds to it. Science progresses by replacing old theories with new ones."

1962

The Death of Thomas Kuhn

Thomas Kuhn was tragically stricken with lung cancer in 1994 and later died in 1996. Kuhn had quite the impact in the realm of scientific thinking and theory.
