Thomas Kuhn was born.

Thomas Kuhn has his book published titled "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions". This book discusses how the development of science is driven in what Kuhn refers to as 'paradigms'. These paradigms are periods of time where science eventually goes through a revolution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L70T4pQv7P8

Kuhn has a second edition of his book published. This book clarifies his notion of a paradigm. He states that science is not uniform but has alternating 'normal' and 'revolutionary' time frames. He discusses how all the anomalies in science lead to a 'revolution' of science, in which new ways of thinking begin to be thought and taught.

This notion of paradigms completely changed how some people viewed science. Kuhn believed that science is influenced by culture and race, not just scientific thought. The idea was that scientists would "discover" what they expected to until there is a significant paradigm shift. For example, everyone thought the earth was the center of the cosmos until Copernicus thought otherwise. This brought about a lot of tensions with religious leaders. .
