    My Timeline focuses on the life events of a revolutionary Scientist. Of the many professions and accolades earned Thomas Kuhn influenced and reshaped not just the scientific community, but the world! His greatest contribution was developing minds of future leaders and innovators for over 20 years.
  • Early Education

    Thomas Kuhn’s early education years were scrutinized by his Father, Samuel due to Tom’s inability to read and write by age 7.   • Harvard Matriculation.

    Despite his slow academic start, and constant shifts in schools, Thomas excelled and maintained all A’s all throughout high school. He was accepted into Harvard University in Cambridge, Connecticut.
  • Radio Research Laboratory’s Theoretical Group.

    Thomas pursed his degree in Physics, and during his Junior year he became apart of this group who researched countermeasures against enemy radar. This would lead Thomas to a position in the United Kingdom which he accepted.

    Once the WWII ended Kuhn returned back to the U.S. and completed the Masters Degree Program at Harvard!
  • Harvard Fellowship

    As a Junior Fellow in the Harvard Society this is where Thomas Kuhn focused on developing ideas, which lead to Harvard hiring Thomas appointing him as an Instructor, and Assistant Professor!
  • 1st Marriage

    Thomas married Kathryn Muhs, who attended the same college as Minette, Vassar University. They had 2 daughters, but divorced in 1978
  • PhD. Harvard

    Thomas received his Doctoral Degree from Harvard in the History of Science.
  • Univ. of California at Berkley

    With no Tenure offered by Harvard University Thomas accepted the position at the University of California at Berkeley where he was the Professor. He began a 1 year Fellowship at Stanford's University Center for Advanced Studies. This is where he wrote a significant portion of his book
  • “Paradigm Shifts”

    Thomas Kuhn’s book “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions,” was published and released! Every copied was purchased within 24 hours. His book was controversial analyzing how societal structures are connected to science. Science is messy, it is discovery, one thing science is not; a straight line. This impactful book was hot topic in non science related areas. As culture changed, advancements in technology, medicine, and science shifted and progressed.
  • Princeton University

    Thomas Kuhn, Physicist, Professor, and Author accepted an offer to teach at Princeton University where he would head the department 15 years.
  • MIT

    Thomas Kuhn’s last position was at MIT where he taught for 12 years before retiring in 1991.
  • Thomas Kuhn ~ Death

    In 1994 Thomas Kuhn was diagnosed with Throat and Lung Cancer. He battled for two years and passed away on the 17th of June, 1996. I was 2 years old.
