Thomas Samuel Kuhn was born July 18, 1922, in Cincinatti, Ohio. -

Thomas earned his bachelor's degree in 1943 and his master's in 1946 at Harvard University. Both these degrees were in Physics. He then received his PhD in the History of Science in 1949. -

Teaching
Kuhn taught history or philosophy of science at Harvard University from 1951-1956. He then moved to the University of California at Berkley from 1956 - 1964. He also taught at Princeton between 1964 and 1979 before finally finishing out his teaching career at MIT from 1979 to 1991. -

Kuhn published his first book "The Copernican Revolution" in 1957 and discusses the shift in the field of astronomy from a geocentric understanding of the universe to the heliocentric understanding. -
The Structure of Scientific Revolution
