Kuhn first described the paradigm shift in his 1962 book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. Kuhn’s paradigm shift is interpreted as an important change that happens when the usual way of thinking about or doing something is replaced by a new and different way. According to Kuhn, in order for paradigm shift to take place there are four required steps. Phase 1: Normal Science. Phase 2: Model Crisis. Phase 3: The Model Revolution, once this phase is settled 4: Paradigm Shift begins.
