Ernest Nagel and Morris R. Cohen published a book called "An Introduction to Logic and Scientific Method." They wanted to demonstrate the "logical principles in scientific method in the natural and social sciences and in law and history." Logic being the study of correct reasoning seemed to play a huge influence on the scientific method, since it included many instances of conflict within the study.
