When Thomas Jefferson was 25, he was elected to be a part of the Virginia House of Burgesses. The Virginia house of Burgesses was the first attempt to spread democracy in the colonies. -

Thomas Jefferson died on the auspicious day that America got its independence. He suffered from pneumonia and diarrhea.
