    The first rotary phone created was made in 1919. This further revolutionized communication because three way calling and call waiting were all invented. this type of phone was used until 1975 when it was rendered obsolete.

    8-Track Technology
    8-track technology was invented in the 1950's. This product revolutionized how people listened to music in their cars. When using this product drivers could listen to music whenever they wanted to and had the ability to listen to any song they wanted. After cassette tapes were invented people saw that cassettes were cheaper and more practical than 8-track technology. 8-Track technology devices were rendered obsolete in 1982

    The earliest car ashtray ever made was in 1926 inside the Rolls Royce phantom limousine. The last one ever made was in 1994. At that time Chrysler was the first car manufacturer to offer car ashtrays as an option

  • Pagers

    The first ever pager made was developed for a hospital in 1949. The one way pager was the most popular in 1998 and shortly after lost popularity until the two way cell phone was made rendering the one way pager obsolete.

  • Floppy Disks

    Floppy disks were invented in 1981 and had 1.44 MB of storage. They became obsolete in the year 1998. Sony continued to sell them twelve years after being classified obsolete.

  • VHS Tapes

    VHS Tapes
    Video Home Systems (VHS) were invented in 1977. In one of the biggest rivalries in technology the VHS tapes would eventually render their rivals Betamax. VHS tapes would eventually be rendered obsolete on August 28 2005.

    Typewriters were first invented in 1867. Many people used typewriters between 1867 and 2011. the last Typewriter manufacturer in Mumbai, India closed its doors in the year 2011.

  • Compact Disks

    Billy Joel's "52nd Street" became the first commercially-available CD. MP3 players, streaming websites and the internet was the downfall of the compact disk. they were considered obsolete in the year 2013. Kanye West's album "Yeezus" was released in a clear CD case which he claimed to be an open casket funeral for the CD.

    Alexander Graham bell and Thomas Watson invented the first landline phone in the year 1876 revolutionizing communication between people. The landline was popular until 2017 when the product was classified obsolete.

    Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre inveted the fist set of camera film. Many people used Film for their cameras for almost 150 years! The first digital camera was invented in 1975 which was the start of the downfall of camera film. In May 2018 camera film was classified obsolete.
