Theodore took the presidency due to the assassination of William McKinley. The Republicans had his back and stated to the public about how professional Teddy was good with foreign affairs. The Democrats however thought that he wasn't fit for the job. Without Theodore being elected America would be very different now. -
Wind Cave National Park is established
Wind Cave is a sacred place for the Native American people.President Theodore Roosevelt signed the bill making Wind Cave a official national park. It was the eighth national park created and the first that protect a cave. The parks at that time were small and there were no bison, elk, or pronghorn. They came later as the park boundaries expanded. -

A domestic program made from three basic ideas: conservation of natural resources, control of corporations, and consumer protection. This deal was made to help protect the middle class from bad trust funds. The deal also helped protect buisnesses from organized labor. It was named the square deal because it was supposed to be fair for buisnesses and the union workers. -

Roosevelt declares the massive Grand Canyon in northwestern Arizona a national monument. Though Native Americans lived in the area as early as the 13th century, The momument wasn't a true momument. It was just a section of a few anchors where you could over look the canyon. -
