Nanny transfers her hopes to Janie
After running away from her owner she then raises leafy but then leafy gets raped and spends the rest of her nights drinking at bars. Nanny has now lost all hope in leafy and has put it into Janie. -
Nanny dies
Janie marry's a rich farmer named Logon but she doesn't love him, she on;y married him because Nanny wanted her to. Nanny dies and after a year with Logon she still feels no love for him. -
Jody
Logon fails to reconize how amazing Janie is and Janie grows extremely dissatified with him. One day she finds Jody a weathly person looking to start a dream and he recongizes her and she falls in love with him after a few weeks. -
New town
They get to a town named Eatonville and Jody buys more land for it, builds a store, a post office, and a street ligtht. Also, Jody is named the first mayor of Eatonville. -
the mule
Jody buys Matt Bonner's old mule and it becomes a town mascot. -
Jody dies
Jody dies of kidney failure and on his death bed Janie tells him everything she hates about him. -
Tea Cake
Tea Cake asks Janie if she wants to play checkers with him, this is big for Janie because she is being teated as an equal person. while they play they laugh, joke, and flirt. -
Marry
They decide to get married so they meet eachother in Jacksonville and get married. Tea Cake steels the $200 that Janie had hidden and gambles it away but then he soon earned it back with a little extra money. -
Warning
one day a group of Native Americans came through moving to higher ground they said that a Hurricane is coming. Everyone in toiwn leaves except Janie, Jody, and Motor Boat stay behind. Once it hits they realize that they are in way over their head and the lake starts to flood and Jody and Janie get seperated from Motor Boat. Then Janie and Jody get swept away in the water but are still alive but then out of no where a dog attacks Janie and Jody saves her but he gets bittenb really bad by the dog -
another one down
After the storm Tea Cake starts showing symtoms of rabbies and then later dies. Janie is then put on trial for the death of her husband, the court finds her innocent and she buries Tea Cake. -
Back home
After Tea Cakes funeral Janie Moves back to Eatonville and ives the rest of her life there because she has seen the horizon
