  • Soldiers come to the ghetto

    The soldiers come in at midnight and order hanna's family to pack three days worth of food and a suitcase of clothes and be ready by eight o clock sharp standing on there front porch.
  • The soldiers order Jews

    8:00am- the soldiers order every Jew to stand outside the synagogue then they are packed on a cattle truck and taken away to surely brick yard for five days.
  • Hanna arrived at the train station then left for Poland

    On the 26th they arrived at the train station
    On the 29th they arrive at the train station in Auschwitz Birkenau Poland.

    Also on the 29th they are ordered to work out digging wholes in the hot sun for the whole day
  • They are ordered into categories

    Hannah father is ordered to the right out of the men. When Hanna is told to line up a man in striped pyjamas comes up to her and says to tell the guards she is 16 if she wanted to stay with her family and alive. She told the guards she was 16 and then they were moved to another room and told to take off all of there clothes and they had to get there whole body shaved, a tattoo of their number on there arm and rags for clothes with a yellow star sewer to it.
  • The selection

    Hanna hears a space for a pianist. She is told to go to block 11 to shower and prep to audition for the commandant. She got the part but when she returned she heard that her mother had been take. Away.
  • Karl sings

    Approximately 2 days later Hanna is in the commandants house and he has guests and Karl is asked to sing by his dad. Karl sings a song that is a love story.
  • Hanna's father might be alive

    The next day she is playing piano when she hears about a prisoners with a knack for repairing watches and automatically thinks about her dad who might still be alive.
    Lottie the commandants dog chokes and dies so he tells the gardener to dig a grave but he steps on the grave and the commandant shoots the gardener and he dies.
  • Vera gets hurt

    Sometime at the end of the month, 2 months later. Hanna, Karl and the commandant are in the music room and the commandant asks where Vera and the tea is. Hanna runs in to find she has been hit by an SS soldier. Vera asks if Hanna can take over the laundry shift and Vera is taken away to the infirmary.
  • Banned song saved by Karl

    Hanna is playing piano when the commandant stands and demands the song. Karl steps in saying that it was by Franz Hirsch but in actual reality that was one of his old school teachers. In the afternoon when she is doing the laundry shift she finds a present addressed to her. It is a hard-boiled from Karl. She also finds out that the secret food was Karl's idea.
  • Hanna's birthday.

    Hanna turns 16. Karl is practising singing when a tear runs down her face. Karl gives his white square handkerchief embroided with his initials and he tells her to keep it. Hanna says that people will think she stole it. Karl takes it back and puts it in his pocket then Karl gets a cup of tea and a custard cake glazed with honey from the day before to eat for her birthday.

    Karl shows Hanna his sketch of her and Karl gives Hanna plates of food to eat but she puts the plates down and shows him her swollen and infected thumb. She goes to the infirmary and gets her thumb fixed.
  • Christmas Day

    Hanna plays to loudly and the commandant hits his baton on the lid of the piano. Karl is asked by his father to sing 'Ave Maria'.
  • Nearby factory

    Hanna's barrack is ordered to a nearby factory. Hanna runs to the commandants house and Karl says that he has that arranged for Hanna to go with him but she says that her sister is gone and she wants to got find her. She goes back to the camp and is found and dragged to a different hut. Later she runs back to the commandants house and finds only Karl. Karl makes tea for Hanna because she is sad about Erika. Karl asks to show something in his room. Hanna sees a piano in his room and they play...
  • Continued from last event

    Hanna sees the piano and they play together. Karl makes black tea and gives a biscuit to her to eat and also one to out in her pocket. Karl tells Hanna to go back home and Hanna kisses Karl. They are standing on the porch and Karl strokes Hanna's head and kisses her again.
  • Showers are not always showers

    Hanna finds out that the showers in one block are not showers they are gas chambers for the weak and old. Russians moved survivors to another camp where they slept in SS quarters. It had a thick mattress and Hanna finds that Vera is alive. Hanna realises that her mother might have been taken to the gas chambers and Vera tells her to go home and wait for her family.
  • Finally going home

    Hanna leaves Auschwitz for her home. She quickly runs back to gran the camera film that Erika hid when they arrived at the train station in Poland. Her last stop was Karl's house. She ran to his room and buried her face in his sheets then she sees his sketch book and opens to find the photo he drew of her before had changed. The girl looked more confident and braver. She ripped out the page and sits at the pion and plays a song for her mother.
  • Sitting on the train

    The train stopped at her home. She runs to her old apartment to find the door open. She walks in to see other people living there, they kick her out so she runs out to her old backyard and finds that the secret stash that her father placed in the dirt was gone. So she ran to the music room of her old school and no body is there. She goes to the Jewish Community Centre and sees a notice board of survivors, she looks for her family but no body is there. She hears the voice of Micheal Wollner.....
  • Jewish community centre

    Michael shows her where to get a blanket, bowl and a weekly allowance. Later they had dinner in the school hall. It was bedtime but Hanna couldn't sleep so she went to find a music room. She turned the light on and sleeping on a mattress all curled up was Erika. They hugged and kissed each other and then they talked about how they escaped. Afterwards Erika shows Hanna the money she had dug up form their old backyard. Then they went to sleep.
  • Mr Faranc

    They woke up and showered and ate. They heard about Mr Faranc there old neighbour got his house back and Hanna begged to get their house back but after Mr Faranc was found dead two days later floating in face down in the lake.

  • Michael asks Hanna on a date

    Michael asks Hanna to the moonlight concert and Hanna says yes they agreed to meet up a six o clock. It's ten minutes to six and Hanna is thinking. Four minutes and Hanna stands up and grabs her bag and goes back and puts a sheet of paper in a typewriter. First she writes to the General Kafelnikov, First Army of the Ukranian front typing saying that he has Karl and tells her about what she went through and how Karl helped her.

    She finishes that letter and moves on to writing to the general also giving the film of photos for proof. Then wrote to Karl gives him the C sharp then sends them all.
