Wilbur Wright was the first one born. He was born of April 16, 1867. He wrote books, he was also a aircraft designer. He had 2 sisters and 3 brothers. His fathers name was Milton Wright. His mothers name was Susan Catherine Koerner Wright. -
Orville Wright
Orville Wright was the second one born after Wilbur Wright. He was born of August 19, 1871. He died later then Wilbur did but before he did he got to see the jet planes being built. He was born in Dayton OH. Him and his brother Wilbur were the founders of the Wright Brothers. -
The road to flight
It wasnt till 1892 when they formed the Wright Cycle Company to sell bicycles. It also allowed them to spare time for other projects. Also with the business doing rather good, the brothers also opened a repair shop and later began to manufracture bicycles. -
The Spark
Through the bussiness the brothers were restless. Their energies were focused by two events of 1896. The death of Otto Lilienthal who was the celebrated glider experimenter, in a flying accident. Powered models by Samuel Langley. -
Method and inspiration
The brotheres worked serious began in 1899. Wilbur wrote a book called Smithsonian for Literature. The quckly developed their own theories and for the next four years they devoted themselves to a goal of human flight. -
1900
A letter that was dated May 13, 1900, addressed to Octave Chanute who is an experienced engineer and a worldwide authority on flight at the time. The wrights built a 17-foot glider with an unusual forward elevator. -
1901
The year 1901 was the year that the wrights sharpened their focus. They were trying to fix the lift problem, they increased the camber of the 1900 glider. Also lengthened the wingspan to 22 feet. Which made it the largest glider anyone has tempted to fly. -
1902
The Wright brothers were about finish building the plane. With a 32 foot wings and added vertical tails counteract adverse yaw. 400 gliders proved the design workable. Six hundered more glides that year satisfied them. The year 1903 they were going to prove it. -

Wilbur Wright died on May 30, 1912, a couple years after they flew the final plane. Before he died he got to see how jet planes were made. The Wright Brothers changed how plans were made.
