After the Brown V Board of Education debate, Blacks and Whites were allowed to go together. But it was very dangerous. The nine black kids were being harassed and beated up. At one time they weren’t even able to go school for a total of 2 weeks because of the treats they and the school were getting. Emmett till Murder
Emmett Till, a 14 year old boy from Chicago Illinois, was visiting his relatives in Mississippi when he was stolen from his great-uncles’s home on August 28 1955. He was beaten, shot in the head, and then thrown into the Tallahatchie River. When Till’s body was found, his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, insisted on having Emmett’s body returned to Chicago, where she held a open casket funeral for him. Martin Luther King Assassination
In the morning hours of April, 4 1968 Martin was murdered by a single shot that struck him in the face and neck that stopped in his shoulder. After he went out to his balcony at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, where he went to lead a peace march to support sanitation workers. He was pronounce dead at 7:05 PM at St. Joseph Hospital.
