Siege of Detroit
Hull was American and Brock was British. They both had different tactics one of most importance was Brocks intimidation tactics. Hull feared that to much of the population would be wiped out and he surenderd. Brock had the Tecumseh's native forces on his side also. -
Battle of Frenchtown
After two battles and then resulting in a massacre Americans ,commanded by George Madison and James Winshester, tried to take back Fort Detroit by outnumbering the British & Natives. This did not happen and they were forced into Frenchtown. After two battles with the Americans defeated some who survived marched to Fort Malden where murder and death met them. -
Battle of York
The Americans were supported by navy had docked on the west shore, defeated the British and captured the fort, town and docks. Americans then took control of the Great Lakes and burned York. The Americans outnumbered the British with their 1,700 men against the 700 British. This time the Americans way of outnumbering the British came in handy. -
Laura Secord
After learning of a surprise American attack on the British Laura Secord then walked 20 miles to warn the British. This gave them and the Native allied mowhawks to get ready for the attack. -
Battle of the Chateauguay
Britain was commanded by Charles de Salaberry including volunteers from canada along with the Mowhawk warriors. They defended and fought aagainst the Americans who were trying to take control and invade montreal area. The Americans surrendered for the second time. -
Battle of Horseshoe Bend
Andrew Jackson led the Americans and their allied natives to fight against the Red Sticks who were against American expansion. This war ended with a victory to the Americans and their Allies. -
Battle of Plattsburgh
After the Americans gained a victory against the British they secured their Northern Borders. The battle of Plattsburgh ended the final invasion of the northern states. -
The Hartford Convention
The Federalists held a meeting to discuss the idea of secession and new amendments to protect the Northeastern states. They offered the idea of seceeding from the US and creating a stable relationship with the British. This would involve removing the Three-Fifths compromise, and problems with the Louisiana Purchase and Embargo Act of 1807. -
Treaty of Ghent
This treaty ended the War of 1812 where noone had lost or gained any land during this war. All territories went back to normal.
