The North Vietnamese and Vietcong coordinated attacks all over South Vietnam which targeted American military bases and major cities in South Vietnam. The attacks occurred on the Vietamese New Year which is called "Tet". -
My Lai Massacre
American soldiers entered a Vietamese village called My Lai and begain killing villagers. They killed 300 people. It was a major shock to Americans. -
Kent State
Four students were killed at Kent State University. Students gathered to protest the war. National Guard arrived but students wouldn't end their protests. Nine other students were injured. -
Paris peace accords end US involvement
North Vietamese agreed to peace talks after heavy US attacks. The US pulled all forces out. This did not end the war. It ended America's involvement in it. -
